H.E. Fahad bin Abdulrahman Al-Jalajel is one of Saudi Arabia’s most influential government leaders. Education and Early Career
Born in 1978, Al-Jalajel holds a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from King Saud University in Riyadh and a master’s degree in Computer Science from Saint Joseph’s University in Pennsylvania, USA. He also earned an executive certificate in Leadership and Management from the MIT Sloan School of Management.
He began his professional career in 1998 at King Abdulaziz City for Science and Technology (KACST), where he led open-source software initiatives. In 2001, he transitioned to the General Investment Authority (now the Ministry of Investment), rising to Acting Director General of IT, where he contributed to national strategies for digital governance.
By 2008, Al-Jalajel joined the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as an Advisor to the Minister for IT Affairs, driving key IT modernization projects. In 2012, he became Deputy Minister for Consumer Affairs, where he led reforms in consumer rights protection, implemented advanced regulatory systems, and introduced data-driven decision-making processes.

In 2016, Al-Jalajel was appointed Deputy Minister of Health for Planning and Development, where he was instrumental in designing the Health Sector Transformation Strategy — a foundational pillar of Vision 2030. During the COVID-19 pandemic, Al-Jalajel directed national efforts for pandemic response, rapid vaccination rollout, and health system resilience building. Under his leadership, Saudi Arabia achieved top-tier pandemic management rankings — placing among the top G20 countries and securing the second-highest global ranking in pandemic response efficacy.
